Prekärotopia
"None for all, none for everyone, many and others, everyone alone...". This is the conclusion of the chorus of shock in the contemporary singspiel by Beate Engl, Leonie Felle and Franka Kaßner. The neologism PREKÄROTOPIA, derived from "precarious", "rotation" and "utopia", questions the fundamental definition of the solidarity of a community and the individual.
In the PREKÄROTOPIA system, the three protagonists Speaker, Poupée and Trickster fluctuate between being torn and driven, triumph and failure, euphoria and despair. They yearn for emancipation and participation in solidarity and fail at the same time. In this way, PREKÄROTOPIA dramaturgically reflects the challenge of solidarity and attitude in global societies, which consist of countless parallel worlds. PREKÄROTOPIA can be seen as a manifesto of the plot, which even formulates the failure and resignation of Speaker, Poupée and Trickster at the end of the play as an active attitude. The artists want to break down hierarchies and initiate a discourse on political action and responsibility.
PREKÄROTOPIA is a Gesamtkunstwerk developed collectively that combines sculpture, text, film, music and performance. In addition to the live performances of the Singspiel, an essential, analytical and discursive exhibition full of visual experiences will manifest itself. For PREKÄROTOPIA at the A.K.T; the artists create an installative parcours universe of sculptures, instruments, costumes, songs and videos, in which they use the objects as props for the modern performance of the Singspiel with 13 self-composed punk, chanson and agit-pop interludes.
PREKÄROTOPIA premiered in 2019 in the Kunstbau of the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus Munich and was awarded the Art Prize of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts.
