The hand of God

Football is a mass phenomenon, a game that moves and electrifies people on different continents. For many fans, the game is a great passion and is sometimes even equated with a religion. Football players and coaches are the idols of many people around the world.
Sport is closely intertwined with many areas of society and therefore often acts as a mirror of society. Time and again, football is the starting point for social discourse, for example on the marketing and commercialisation of sport, diversity or the violation of human rights surrounding the World Cup in the desert state of Qatar at the end of 2022.

The exhibition "The Hand of God" reflects on the game of football, which inspires millions of people and brings cultures together, and is used both positively and negatively by politicians as a mood-setter.
