Finissage "Dissolving hands"

Luisa Heese, curator for contemporary art at the Kunsthalle Mannheim, is a guest at the A.K.T; and talks to Waldemar Zimbelmann about his work.
Luisa Heese has worked as a curator for contemporary art and sculpture at the Kunsthalle Mannheim since 2023, where she most recently curated the exhibition "Sarah Lucas. Sense of Human" exhibition. She studied cultural studies and aesthetic practice with a major in art studies in Hildesheim and in Caldas da Raínha, Portugal. After a traineeship at the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden, she worked there as a curator from 2015 to 2020, taking over as acting director together with Hendrik Bündge in 2019. There she curated and co-curated the exhibitions "VALIE EXPORT.
Fragments of a Touch" (2020), "Alina Szapocznikow. Human Landscapes" (2018), and "Emeka Ogboh. If Found Please Return to Lagos" (2017). From 2020 to 2023, she was director of the Museum im Kulturspeicher Würzburg, where she curated and co-curated the exhibitions 'New Order. On Art and Order in Uncertain Times" (2021), "KONKRET GLOBAL!" (2022) and "Witches! On Bodies, Knowledge and Power" (2023). As an art scholar and author, she regularly contributes to international art publications and conferences.

This will be followed by a performance by the Pforzheim Theatre at 5 pm: In the exhibition, alongside the works of Waldemar Zimbelmann, texts by the poet Christina Pasedag can be seen and heard, with which she has created a mirror to the works of Waldemar Zimbelmann. Members of the acting ensemble of the Pforzheim Theatre will bring the associative word chains to life in a small intervention.
